“I would like to be the air that inhabits you for a moment only. I would like to be that unnoticed and that necessary.”
Friendship lights the soul as a single sparkler: just one strike and fireworks burst. The relationship between wind and fume is temporal. Heat burns brightly to the wick's end, scattering luminescence shards in a sizzling orb. In response to the light, essence echoes—mirroring the glow it perceives. Without illumination, one must recall the stories of profound intimacy to keep the heart aloft. Amongst kindred flames, I feel safe to join hands and dance outside the boundary of what I once knew to be true. I desire kinship beyond the conditioned need for belonging. Clouds will obscure the cosmos; sorrow is eventual. I cannot skip the ending to begin another love song. Melancholy is a comfort to the recesses of the psyche. I need sadness to keep me bound to hope. Deep gratitude to those who fly with me, faces angled towards the sun we know is there yet cannot always perceive.
