milquetoast

The moment of change is the only poem.
— Adrienne Rich.

What is the meaning of all of this?

The brighter and longer stars burn, the more dark energy amasses in its aura. Cosmologists predict that the abundance of dark energy will cause the Big Rip, the progressive tearing of the universe as it expands.

The stars prove that the more light a thing has, the more darkness surrounds it.

Expansion and evolution: the heart’s electromagnetic field extends beyond the boundaries of each fingertip. Its vibration flows three feet in circumference from the source.

A cage formed by each rib protects the heart. A clenched fist beats behind the sternum. How do we treat objects behind bars?

Does this organ want for protection?

The heart may be heard as a hand pounding against a wooden doorframe or the light tapping of raindrops against a tin roof. The heart may respond as psithurisms; wind in the trees or the crackle of hot coals popping in the sand.

How does your heart sound?

My heart peals like the skin of a grapefruit. Tight and porous. It ripples like the salty lick of Pacific Ocean on sunkissed shoulders. The sky is red and swirls with the dust of the demolition—charcoal streaks and brittle kindling the ruinous effect of my heart's furious passion. My heart sings the melody of madness, blazing as a bush fire.

Dark, unsettling beauty is the symphony of my spirit. Tempted by enthusiasm, my heart flies up and out when it feels the notes of belonging.

Great Myth of Mankind, this belonging.

Be ⥱ to exist - "there are no easy answers."
Be is an Indo-European root shared by Latin fui ‘I was,’ fio ‘I become,’

Longing ⥱ to have a strong wish or desire.
Old English Lanigan ‘grow long, prolong, ‘dwell in thought, yearn.’

The meaning is the momentum.

Spanda is the Great Cosmic Pulse that connects all beings. It is the rhythm and the wanting, the ceaseless hope for what could be. Move with what is coming; go with the flow.

Let’s implore Roe vs. Wade to play devil's advocate—are women supposed to simply accept a fate imposed by the Other?

If individuals accepted death, they would not be full of fear and result in actions that foster greed, hatred, abuse, control, and regression. A proclamation of Truth is to let go with grace and release the grip of power.

Much of what we see does not point at the root cause of the issue.

The Egyptians and Tibetans dedicated entire books to accepting death. Acceptance is a painful practice. To accept that this is temporary, we arrive and depart in solitude. We are part of a bigger narrative, yet this practice is individual. No matter how advanced our technology or grand our ideas, we are each that burning star—lowing brightly and consumed by its own shadow—destined for demise.

How much can the heart handle?

My heart resounds in the process of being broken, the removal of falsities and niceties. The eventual disquiet. Absolution. The unsettling ache and dark beauty. Constant wonder.

She burns brightly.
Her heart thunders.

I yearn to be put back together.
