“Generally, people who are good at writing letters have no need to write letters. They’ve got plenty of life to lead inside their own context.”
The thing must arise spontaneously.
I cannot force the story. I have no authority. The source is its own mind, being connected to that which is greater. I have no control over it. I must trust its rhythm and move with it.
Moments pass when nothing of interest appears. I delete much of what I create. I follow the line, and as soon as I feel the superficial—the striving —seep into a sentence, I remove it. The acquittal is swift. I’ve read enough to realize the phonies. Niceties have no place in writing. The story demands the truth. Anything other than what is authentic to the creator must be destroyed.
You (the reader) will project your beliefs, theories, and desires onto the work. I have no control over your inference. I don’t care to control how you feel about any particular subject of mine. I write to understand what I feel. I create to negate the urge to consume. I write to capture an infinitive structure of human existence. I write to bring cohesion and form to the mystical—the formless.
In the absence of writing, I am misplaced.
