The original title for this newsletter was, ‘The 4k Mistake.’
Since evaluating the event, I’ve realized my 4k Mistake was a blessing.
Let me tell you what happened and what I learned.
My phone was stolen from my bag in Sao Paulo.
A new iPhone with the features I need for work is double the price in Brazil compared to America.
None of my data from my old device was tranferrable; the device was wiped and locked within twenty minutes of being taken.
I spent 3400 CAD on a new phone plus the fees to purchase my applications and SIM card.
I felt the robbery occur on an energetic level - I sensed someone invading my space, and as soon as I consciously acknowledged the theft, the music was cut off on my AirPods.
I was too late for the confrontation, so I sat on the curb, cried, and blessed the thief.
Why am I grateful for this experience? Why did I send a blessing?
All my contacts were gone from my iCloud, so I messaged friends on Instagram to ask for their phone numbers.
Three magnificent things happened:
My best friend in Turkey called me, and we talked for hours. The phone call led to finding an apartment in Istanbul and signing a year's lease. My friend also offered to host me while we looked for furniture and facilitated the call with the real estate agent who could not speak English.
My best friend from Italy, who has a background in economics and worked in the Sudan, offered guidance, which allowed our friendship's depth and intimacy to flourish.
A friend from the Kundalini Yoga Training I took this summer messaged me with an invitation to a Dream Clarity Challenge. I signed up and have since found two writing submission contests to enter.
If my phone had not been taken from me, I would have never messaged these three women, and these events would not have transpired.
My apparent disconnection led to a deeper connection with three individuals who supported me in achieving my deepest desires.
What I’ve learned from this experience:
Be attentive to the signs I energetically perceive.
Send blessings, no matter how strenuous the affair.
Learn from mistakes and keep moving forward.
Protect what is precious.
See the other person as you.
Ask, and you shall receive.
Sending big love to the incredible women who wear their hearts for all to see!

The Ache
Pups play at the bank where the tide draws back, presenting its urban jewels. Tin cans and plastic containers. The ruins of modernity. There’s a word for this moment, but I can’t grasp it; my hands are too slippery from the olives. The black ones are as dark as your eyes and just as addictive.
Autumn arrives wearing Her feathers. I only wanted a friend to lay beside me on the dunes. Listen, can you hear the tide go wish, wish, wish?
Lady of The Red Night: I line my eyes with charcoal and ask you to sit with me. We share tea, figs, amlou, biscuits, and dried apricots. I’m holding the elixir in my mouth when you kiss me. Try to get to know your fundamental duality, the asymmetry of the stars.
I have a need to define myself through this opposition with you. I push back, my nails painted dark cherry. The color of a bruised heart. It’s a miracle to ache.

“I’m the Barbra Streisand of tasting my own voice. I don’t have any problems with procrastination where writing is concerned.
You have to look for where the language goes crunchy, where everybody starts saying the same things and formulating their reactions in the same way – and step out of it,”

Quote of the Week:
Look at the sky: that is for you. Look at each person's face as you pass them on the street: those faces are for you. And the street itself, and the ground under the street, and the ball of fire underneath the ground: all these things are for you.

2 questions to brew on:
Can you identify a time that an unexpected occurrence shifted things in your relationships? What was it?
Do you send blessings to those you love? How about those you do not love?
