If I am ever unsettled over you I know it is an issue within me.
No one has that much control unless you give it to them.
What I desire most at the moment is an evening with my girlfriends.
I want to lay on the red rug with a glass of wine and decant my dreams.
There are no rugs in my dwelling, and I do not enjoy drinking alone.
This morning I made coffee with the oat milk cream and it sweetened my lips.
I need nectar to soothe the bug.
Gold and red cockroaches run around while I’m sleeping.
I hear the patter of their feet, the scurry scurry on the floor!
I took a broom to one and broke its back open.
The eggs spilled everywhere and my tears washed the guts away.
I found its wings under the table.
My wings were removed as well, I hung them in the closet.
I set them next to the pink romper and blue evening gown.
The black cocktail dress from Clara with the sparkly neckline.
My suede shoes and leather espadrilles and wooden platforms.
I’ve no where to dress up; the jungle is full of animals.
They don’t recognize me in unusual feathers.
I go out naked and the beasts croak from where they recline in the wet.
One day, I’ll free the goddess and step outside in sequins.
I don’t dress to impress anyone!
Least of all you, with your whispers in the dark that dam up my vision.
Who Am I?
With and without you there are two people.
I don’t know who I’m courting.
I keep pausing to release the pressure.
I must move on; I do not wait for anyone.
