A dream about crocodiles. Three white crocodiles submerged.

I drew the elephant card—bestower of obstacles, trickster, Lord of New Beginnings.

I discovered a story about an elephant and a crocodile wrestling.

An elephant performs its daily sadhana by crossing a river with flowers in its trunk. It takes the flowers to place at a deity’s feet each morning.

One day, as the elephant is crossing the river, a crocodile wraps itself around the elephant’s feet. It drags the elephant to the deepest part of the river where it cannot touch in an attempt to drown it.

The elephant carries a lotus flower in its mouth and presents it to God. I have accepted my death; the elephant proclaims as the crocodile drags him further into the river. As the lotus petals touch the sunlight, the elephant shapeshifts and turns into a whale. As a whale, the elephant is much more giant than the crocodile and can swim away, avoiding its demise.
