generosity
Where do you source your energy?
From others?
The cats smile. Your lover’s warmth beneath the covers. A friend’s supportive wisdom. A client’s warm review.
From food?
A stomach-soothing beverage. A slippery bowl of noodles. The crunch and crackle of cucumber and kale. A palm-sized warm pastry.
From sensation?
The breeze in the curtains. The scent of sliced apple. Fading light on the floorboards. The bright center of the flower before its petals drop….
Attention is the rarest and purest form of generosity.
Simone Weil

It’s a Turkish deck with black and white lettering. I pull
a card, Kolay Gelsin.
May it come easy to you.
I’m stuck in a stage between spring and summer,
blossoming quietly, straining for mercy. A harsh
aurora where abundance weeps wildflowers.
