appreciation
I went to the Frida Kahlo art exhibit the other day.
I wanted to feel the presence of Friday through her art.
At the gallery, I could not drop into the experience I wanted.
The carpet smelled of cigarettes and perfume, and people took photos and examined their snapshots instead of the illustrations.
Energetically, the space felt static.
I left after five minutes.
When I got home, I searched this website for her paintings. Then, I laid down in bed, closed my eyes, and did Reiki while feeling the impression of her artwork inside my body.
I want to be alone more and more to appreciate the subtlety of my inner experience.
Frida illuminated her inner world from this place of solitude; she was bedridden with illness and spent hours idle drawing and writing.
From the one journal entry I read, I enjoyed this line:
Twilight is the most beautiful prelude to the dark night. It is when the labors end, the end of the day that has passed.
It is a new moon today, and I am marking the coming weeks with a simple appreciation for solitude.
I hope you can also carve out a little soul space for yourself.
Sending you a blessing in the dark moon,
Seraphina
